I'm Jessica Fraser, an educator and technology leader.

I graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2004 with my Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Development and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.

I began teaching in the Anaheim City School District (ACSD) in 2004. At ACSD, I have taught grades K-6 as a reading interventionist and classroom teacher, with most of my teaching experience in fifth grade.  I have been viewed as a technology leader, helping my colleagues implement new forms of technology, leading trainings, and being part of small teams to explore new technology to use with students.

In 2013 I began a rigorous program at California State University, Fullerton to earn my Master of Education degree with a focus in Educational Technology.  As a result of this program, I have grown tremendously as an educator and have become much more of a technology leader.  Before this Masters program, I thought I was doing my students a great service simply by using technology.  After my in depth studies, I have learned that just using technology is not enough.  Students must be engaged in meaningful learning experiences that promote 21st century skills.  I now know the research behind how and why children should use technology in the classroom, and I feel more confident in my abilities to help other teachers understand what effective technology integration truly is.  I will earn my degree in December of 2014 and plan to continue seeking out professional development in educational technology.

During the 2014/2015 school year, I began my new role in ACSD as a Digital Learning Coach.  Using my knowledge and passion for educational technology, I help to empower K-6 teachers at two Anaheim schools to become technology leaders.  I support teachers through one on one coaching, demo lessons, co-planning and co-teaching, and whole staff in-services.  My support focuses on how teachers can promote the four Cs (collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity) with their students by integrating various forms of technology into their daily lessons.

This digital portfolio is the final project of my Masters program.  The purpose of this portfolio is to demonstrate and describe my competency in the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for Coaches.  Here is a link to the complete ISTE Standards for Coaches.  My portfolio has a page dedicated to each ISTE Standard.  The ISTE Standard description is located at the top of each page.  There is an image above each artifact title that you can click on to take you to my work.  Below each artifact title is an explanation about my work toward meeting the ISTE Standard that relates to each artifact.

The final page of this digital portfolio describes my action plan of how I will continue to grow as an educational technology expert once I earn my Masters degree in December 2014.  This action plan is important to ensure that I continue my growth as an educator and technology leader.
